Milan, Italy

7/1
We enjoyed the train ride to Milan. It's safe to say that these guys needed a more laid back day and some time to rest. The best way to describe Milan is the New York of Italy. It's a big city and one of the world's top fashion locations. Tom and I were not very impressed by the style. People didn't seem to "dress to impress" as much as dressing to stand out and distress everyone looking at them. I digress, I was wearing a white V-neck T-shirt today, so I know that I made the world jealous of good ole Texas fashion :).

The Duormo (Milan Cathedral) was the sight to see. Although we're only here one night, the cathedral was worth the stop. We got tickets and bought me a little paper gown since my shorts were too short. I can't describe the duormo as much as the pictures below do. The organs sounded ominous inside and I felt so small. I stopped thinking about food, plans, etc. and thought about Christ and his Kingdom, which will be greater than any man made cathedral. I think of the New Testament in John when Christ says that He will rebuild the temple in three days later meaning that his body would be the temple and I'm thankful for Christ's sacrifice. I love when scripture is clearly painted in a cathedral and the stained glass in this one told many Bible stories. (This reminds me of your story cloth mom and dad, just in stained glass).

Beautiful stained glass depicting scripture

Britt's Version of Milan Fashion

Italy has been fun, but Tom and Britt and ready to go to a place with fewerr carbs, fewer people, and fewer buildings. We're catching a train to Switzerland after morning coffee down the street.

  1. What are you talking about . . .I love your style. Blue is your color. :) The stained glass reminded me of the story cloth as well.

  2. Thanks Mom :). Being away makes me miss you guys, as much as we enjoy travel I could never live this far away from family (Hints the number of things I wish I could call you about while I'm here). We Love You Guys!!
